Hey all. I've been really procrastinatory (if it's not a word, it should be) today, so I'm only just getting around to posting. Bad Hazel. :P Good couple of episodes. I missed Castiel today, though...
Italics = notes made at the time. Normal font = afterthoughts. Easy-peasy, lemon squeezy!
Episode Three - In the Beginning
Hi boys. Sam, sooner or later Dean's going to catch you sneaking out with Ruby to kill demons. The very next episode, in fact. *glum*
:( Hell dreams? Oh, hi Castiel. You have to stop what? ... what just happened? Is this the past? Good thing Dean sleeps with his jacket on... lol Dean, you're taking your time to figure this out. On the ball with the one *grins*
1973 *grins* Yep. Hey, Dean, while you're there, phone Sam Tyler over in Manchester and ask him for a few tips? Or give him some. It's your call.
JOHN. O.O What has Dean got to stop? Whatever happened to get Sam targeted as a baby? Sam's powers? I'm so excited, are we going to see what started everything? Yep. But Dean hasn't got to stop anything in the past, because Castiel is doing his impression of a helpful person.
...Castiel should stop doing impressions. He's crap. XD
Hi Castiel. Aren't you helpful today. I swear, I don't read the next note before I write an afterthought. It's just that my brain doesn't change that much in two days...
Helping him pick the car! *grins* There you go. Maybe that was Dean's mission from Castiel. Stop John making a bad choice of vehicle. Seems legit.
Oh, fishing Dean. For information, I mean. Not kitted out like a gnome and sitting by a pond. I'm feeling more flippant than usual, can you tell? Now, this has got to be a positive paradox if it is one at all. By positive paradox I mean causing your own existance rather than ending it; or in this case, Dean caused John to buy the car because he knows that John bought the car. That's a paradox, but it's fine. If Dean stabbed John and ate out his heart, that would be a negative paradox because Dean would never have been born to do that. It would also be really, really warped. Know what I mean?
Mary *smiles* Lol. "Mom is a babe. I'm going to hell." *sniggers* Loved the Back To The Future references in this ep.
Okay, so getting-together-family-problems... woah Mary! MARY'S A HUNTER. *massive WTF face* I wasn't expecting that!
For a second there, John looked so like Sam. It's really well cast.
Wow, so I like the grandparents. But what did Dean find weird about their names? Guessing Sam was named for the grandpa. I wonder if Dean was named for himself? Also, I suppose Mary didn't talk about her parents much.
Family business. Cool. Lol, Dean you trumper. *grins* He knows how to usurp another hunter neatly :D
Demon dealing *sadface*... yellow eyes *beams* hehehe. What can I say? I laugh in the face of backstory XD
Love how fast Dean's pushing his points. Not-taking-any-crap!Dean is awesome. But he can't kill Y.E.D. now, that's a negative paradox. *pondering* Azazel. He'll always be Yed to me :D But I was suprised that Dean didn't realise the obvious flaw with going after him. I guess he was kind of in the moment.
Mary reminds me a little of Jo.
"I hate it." *all the sadfaces* "My children to be raised into this like I was." O.O This is... pretty devastating stuff :(
"Don't get out of bed." Oh Dean. You can't change these things :( But he has to try, poor thing.
Hi Castiel. Explain yourself. For goodness' sake. :/ Like that's happening anytime soon. You know what should happen? Dean should get him drunk. I'm serious, that would be bloody funny XD DON'T TELL ME ANYTHING. :D
Dean, you're not there to save your parents. *pets him*
Colt-thief. Smooth. I was surprised that the other bloke didn't at least holy-water Dean on his way past...
"In ten years, I'm going to ask for something." OH. I mean, I don't know the "thing" precisely. But still... yeah, you know that moment where it clicks into place but it's still on the tip of your tongue?
Oh Dean. A self-fulfilled... Mary's going to bargain for her grandpa? Or maybe not. Fleeing demon. I was close, but not quite there.
Ooo, is Dean going to tell his grandpa who he is? He is indeed.
Mary and John running away together. O.O
Grandpa possessed? Yep. *winces*
"Are you one of my psychic kids?" *big eyes* Grandma's listening. This conversation was brilliant.
"I'm the one that kills you." Beautiful. Dean, love you :D Noo, dead grandparents :(
No, he's posses-WHAT... she bargained for John's life, didn't she. *shivers* Oh Mary, sweetheart. :'( And thus it all begins...
Castiel. Look after my Dean, or take him back to Sam. *glum* Castiel, I love you as a character, but as a person... please work on your people skills XD
Also, is Mary's dad the same actor as Carter's dad from SG1? No, but he was the commander of the Daedalus in SGA, so at least I got the right franchise :)
"You couldn't've stopped it." A lesson and information. Sad but necessary.
"Your brother is headed down a dangerous road, Dean. And we're not sure where it leads. So stop it. Or we will." Well, *swears*. O.O Seriously, this line sent actual shivers down my spine. I will talk a bit more about this at the end.
Episode Four - Metamorphosis
A Castiel-free episode. He does kind of steal the episodes he's in, doesn't he? *grins*
Caught demon. But Dean's looking for you... demon dude, distinctly unwise to goad Sam these days :/ Ruby, don't look so pleased. Dean! Well, it had to happen sooner or later.
Oh boys. *anxious* Boys, please don't fight. :( I don't really want to dwell on these bits as they're so sad-making, so let's just mention how awesome Jared and Jensen are and move on...
*flinches* Dean, stop hitting Sam. O.O Once didn't surprise me, but it's when he hits him a second time that really freaked me out. "Slippery slope." Oh Sam. Oh Dean. O.O Telling him about what Castiel said...
At this point I had to pause the DVD for about half a minute while my computer fussed, so have my random thoughts that I jotted down while waiting.
I am... weirded out by all this. The slippery slope argument is reasonable, but only if we know what the potential consequences are. And Castiel did tell Dean in the past to "stop it" and didn't really mean it. So I guess he could be being manipulative. But I'm not sure. :/ It's all really frickin' blurry at the moment. I think I'm okay with that, I just want Dean to stop acting like it's black and white when it so blatantly isn't.
Hungry!dude. What's wrong with hungry!dude... his spine? I entertained the brief thought that he was growing wings, but nope.
Oh telling Sam about their mum :( "Sam I never said anything about demon blood." DEAN DIDN'T KNOW. Oh Sam, please stop with the secrets :( I'm going to be a smug cow for a second and quote myself from my s2 ep22 review: "Also, has Sam told Dean about their mum knowing the demon? It seems an odd thing to leave unrepeated. Maybe it'll come up again later - hopefully!" Because Sam did tell Dean that - but he missed the part about the blood. Despite not being right on the answer, I'm still pretty pleased with myself *grins*
Who's Travis? Also, I'm mildly concerned that hungry!dude is going to eat his wife or something o.O Close!
Ah, hello Travis. "Sticking together like this." A bit close to the bone. *cuddles the boys*
Ah, so he IS thinking of eating his wide. If he doesn't eat some random person first. Ew, handbreaking.
Hm. Sam has a vested interest in arguing this side of things. He's got a good point, but they should be at hungry!dude's house watching him just in case. Mm. Arguing isn't going to help anyone.
Kissing is going to turn into munching... or not yet? That was close.
"Stop the car." Oh crap. Oh boys. O.O "I'm a whole new level of freak." SAM. Okay, rant time. Dean, I adore you. But the fact is, you're being a prick. Yes, yes you are. I know, Sam is taking a risk he probably shouldn't be. But how do you try to fix it? By shutting him down everytime he tries to talk about it, and not accepting that it's a moral grey area. It is a difficult decision, and your brother is going through a hell of a lot. You know what it's like to feel worthless, you're hardly the king of self-esteem yourself. You need to think about it from Sam's perspective, if only to make a better argument than "demons bad. powers bad." because quite frankly, it's ridiculous. Now, again: you are a wonderful human being and you have your own issues to deal with. But don't act like a prick and then be surprised when Sam stops telling you things.
... okay, end rant. I badly want to stick the two of them in a room until they make it up :/
Hmm. Jack might be angry but that doesn't mean it hasn't worked. I hope the boys are... tailing him. Naturally. Was that Ruby I saw as bait? Or just a random - LOL. Yes boys. Leave fast. XD
Woah, who's chloroformed him? Travis... bastard. She's pregnant O.O Give her something if you want to kill the baby...? I'm not saying that would be the right thing to do either, but seriously, it's way more logical than actually killing her.
*flinches* arm breaking again... ew, munchies. Well, at least the wife is out. Also, did anyone else think that it's kind of Travis' fault that Jack snapped? He seemed to be doing pretty well before then...
NOO DON'T HURT MY SAM O.O This scene with Sam in the cupboard is making me think of the telekinetic episode... but nope, no telekinesis.
"It doesn't matter what you are. It only matters what you do." IT IS OUR CHOICES, HARRY. *guilty giggle* I was really on edge in this scene, I swear! But this association made me grin :D And you know Sam's right when Dumbledore agrees with him *nodding*.
:( burning hungry!dude.
"I'd really rather not talk about it." No, Sam! Please boys, please talk. "This is my choice." :( Oh Sam. No more powers. Hm. Wonder how long that'll last...
Righto, I need some sleep :) Hope everyone's having a good weekend!
